Many of you reading this col- umn would proba- bly
be better
suited to report on the Zone happen- ings than I! to
Due
circumstances I was unable
unforeseen to
attend our Annual M eeti n g/ Convention out in Vegas. nately
for
Fortu- me
someone else was there (actually
Rick Vymlatil Zone II Director several someone
else’s) to pick up the ball and run with it. That primary someone was former Zone II Director, Becky Brashear of the Great Frederick Fair. Thanks to Becky for filling in in my absence and keeping the meeting on track. Thanks also to Leah Norris of the Lake County Fair for taking minutes of the meeting so that those of us who were not in attendance could be aware of what was discussed. We have one of the most active Zones in all of the IAFE and it’s due to the efforts of many of our Fairs and Fair folks. Let’s keep it up!
Our next meeting will again be in conjunc- tion with the Florida Federation of Fairs Annual meeting in Naples, May 15, 16 & 17. The convention hotel will be the Wal- dorf Astoria and the annual Giles Ellis Me- morial Golf Tournament will take place on Wednesday, May 14 at Twin Eagles Golf Club. Watch your email and snail mail for complete information. By the time you read this the IAFE Spring Seminar will have taken place in San Anto- nio, Texas. Hosted by the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo and our current IAFE Chair, Debbie Dreyfus-Schronk, I hope you had the opportunity to attend. Other upcoming IAFE Events include:
March 5: IAFE Cyberseminar – Enhanc-
ing the Fair Fan Experience April 2: IAFE Cyberseminar – Financial
Management April 22-25: IAFE Spring Management Conference, Tucson, AZ May 6: IAFE Cyberseminar – Advertising/
Public Relations I For more information on any of the above
