Norfolk on Film BBC Voices
APR
Call us biased, but we’re big fans of print. However, we’ll make an exception to our paper haven for the film work being produced by BBC Voices, the Norwich-based media lab, and their proud new project, ‘Norfolk on Film’. And blimey, how legitimate is this pride! Te goal is simple. Norfolk on Film wants to unite local filmmakers on their website. Not that BBC wants to claim the projects as their own – think more of a NorfolkTube, collating the filmic pieces that have otherwise been scattered around the web. If you’re a Norfolk-based filmmaker, but find you have difficulties dragging the YouTube- inhabitants to you channel, then this is just the thing for you! Give it a try at
norfolkonfilm.tumblr.com, and see your views explode in a matter of days.

Charity Day Te Stanley Arms, Magdalen St
03 MAY
Sir Roald of Dahl, creator of our childhood besties and beasties like the BFG, Matilda and Te Twits has carried on his great children work posthumously, with a kids’ charity in his name. Funds will be raised in his name at Te Stanley Pub on the 3rd May, with a tabletop / jumble sale in the morning, followed by bands, beer and burgers from 1pm to close. Tere’ll be plenty more entertainment to boot, so let’s hear it for this ‘marvelous’ initiative. After all, it’s for charity.
01 MAY
Once glamourised by Julia Roberts, and apparently now Kate Middleton, knitting – and crochet for that matter – is a skill that empowers the crafter into creating pieces of unbound creativity. You only have to look at the winter obsession with Fair Isle to see the impact it has on fashion - and you can be a part of it. Te Mercerie runs workshops across Norwich, like their Contemporary Knitting and Crochet courses on May 1st. For beginners and refreshers, it’s a pearl of a new skill. Check out
www.themercerie.net/workshops for details.
