A number of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors were unable to commit to another term at this time and with no volunteers to fill in for replacements of the positions vacated, the club had no choice but to postpone its activities for the coming year. In Memoriam: Dr. Byrnne Rothwell, DVM (1936-2014)
Ottawa, ON, January 31, 2014 - Equine Canada would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Byrnne Rothwell. Dr. Rothwell passed away on January 28, 2014 at the age of 77. The equine and veterinary commu-
nity has lost an invaluable advocate in Dr. Rothwell. He was a valued volunteer on the Equine Canada Health and Welfare Committee representing Provinces. He was also a dedicated member and attend- ed all meetings providing safe guidance, unfailing accuracy and a wonderful sense of humour. Those who were fortunate to call him a friend or mentor will always remember his calm and thoughtful approach to every situation. Early in his career, Dr. Rothwell

My Turn The Winter Olympics are upon us once again. Threats of vio-
lence against athletes and visitors are rampant. Hopefully the Rus- sian authorities have things under control. Lets hope that the Canadian Olympic Committee does not
send our athletes over there with flags that are not real Canadian Flags. I have seen these off shore banners pretending to be Canadi- an Flags at the Olympics and other World Championships as well as flying off the Peace Bridge and Recently during PM Harpers visit to Israel. Come on folks lets cut out this nonsense. Thank you for looking down in this corner.
