pringtime in the Carolinas is a new opportunity to learn about advanced green building by touring a variety of homes built with specific goals in mind. The 9th Annual Green Home Tour is presented by the Green Home Build- ers of the Triangle (a joint project of the Home Builders Associations of Durham, Orange, Chatham and Wake Counties). This year’s tour features 30 beautiful homes in various stages of construction and located throughout the Triangle.
Homes on the tour are designed and built to be comfortable, energy efficient, healthy and sustainable. Whether you are considering the purchase of your first home or your next home, or remodeling your current home, you are sure to glean exciting ideas. Each home on the Tour is either in the process or has already completed the verification procedures to become certified as a “Green” built home. This third party verification ensures the components of the home qualify it for this advanced certification. When you visit, please ask the knowledgeable staff about the home’s green features. Plan to tour as many homes as possible on this year’s tour to view the latest in innovative building techniques. Tour books will be available beginning in late April in vari- ous locations throughout the Triangle.
