Federaton Surveys

Surveys form an important part of RAF Families Federaton actvity as we provide ever more informaton to the powers that be from RAF Serving personnel and their family members (spouses, partners, parents, siblings and children) on areas that affect them. Your views on the potental changes, as part of the New Employment Model or NEM is vitally important, and becoming increasingly so, and of course we will never neglect the issues that are brought to us daily on other areas that concern you. Below are just two subjects open for discussion now and on which we need your evidence. Please go to our website to give your response. Our easiest way of keeping in touch with you is via our website and the various social media channels, so do followus, like our pages and ask to receive our electronic newsleter. That way we can ensure you know what is going on and you can respond easily and quickly with the confidence that your views will be taken seriously and that we will not disclose your identty.

The RAF FF surveys allow RAF serving personnel and their family members to voice their views, anonymously and in confidence, on issues being discussed and decided upon. With you, we can build a strong case...

Have you experienced difficultes taking your child out of school during periods of PODL?

In September 2013 the rules changed and parents are no longer able to take their child(ren) out of school during term-tme. If they do they are now liable to be fined. Prior to this, under the heading of ‘exceptonal circumstances’ Service parents were able to take their children out of school during periods of PODL - Post Operatonal Deployment Leave. Under the new rules there is stll a case for ‘exceptonal circumstances’ but the provision for Service parents does not seemto be in place.
