A Harry and Jack adventure pack for your child


Children can say remarkable and insightful things but adults are often quick to dismiss them with a condescending smile.


LUCKILY, parents Emma and Stuart Williams were willing to listen when their eldest son became fixated with the idea of rucksack that could double up as a jet pack. Sue Smith dropped into their home in Minchinhampton to see how their space-age ideas were taking off.

family detritus you would expect in a home with three children under the age of five, there sit two jetpacks wrapped in cellophane and ready for distribution to

backpack made to look like a jetpack was no more than a child’s idea backed up with a few basic drawings. “It started when Harry really wanted a


backpack that looked like a jetpack for his birthday,” explains Emma. “Like many parents, when your child


sets their heart on something, we had a look online to see if such a thing existed but just drew a blank.


“We couldn’t find anything out there so


Stuart started to idly draw Harry’s interpretation of his dream jetpack. “As the drawings progressed we realised


we might be on to something,” says Emma. “And it got to the point that the boys


became so excited by the idea that we realised if we did nothing else, we had to at least have two made for Harry and Jack,” she says. With an 11-month-old baby girl, Emily,
