CLAIRE DONALD – NUMBER FIVE

Having spent over 25 years making jewellery, Claire still enjoys the thrill of creating pieces with her own hands and the job satisfaction of working with beautiful stones and materials – to produce a piece from start to fi nish in her own workshop is a privileged position to be in. Jewellery designed with style and simplicity always stands the test of time and often nature is the best designer of all. Some stones are so beautiful in their own right that they don’t need to be embellished. For example, the pictured opal has such a lovely colour that it is shown best, by ‘keeping it simple’. We all wear jewellery for different reasons and the sentimental and emotional attachment to our favourite pieces is undeniable. Claire feels that when designing something for a customer, it is as a compliment that they have chosen her to create that special piece. She enjoys her work and hopes that shows in the fi nished design. 56 Bonnygate, Cupar, Fife. Tel: 01334 657784.
