CALIFORNIA STATE UNIVERSITY, NORTHRIDGE (CSUN) REAL WORLD EDUCATION


• Classes are scheduled conveniently for working professionals and international visitors. (E.g., classes typically meet on weekends or evenings, so that days are free for work or exploration of the Los Angeles region.)

CSUN offers the following business-related programs through its College of Business and Economics (COBAE), one of the largest business schools in the United States.


Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (GCBA)


This one-year program provides both a foundation in business management and a pathway into the CSUN MBA program. GCBA credits earned apply to the satisfaction of the CSUN MBA program’s academic requirements.


Master of Business Administration (MBA)


• CSUN’s MBA program is among the US News and World Report Best Business Schools 2014: Part-time MBA programs.


• Classes are held on weeknights, with an occasional Saturday class in selected courses.


• Students have the option of graduating with a general MBA or with a special concentration in one area of study. Elective concentration options include accounting, international business, management, marketing, finance, information systems, operations management, human resources, and entertainment.


Master of Science, Accountancy (MSA)


Ideal for students who have an undergraduate accounting degree but have not yet taken the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam and need to comply with the new 150-hour requirement for CPA licensure in the United States.


Master of Science in Taxation (MST)


• No classes are held prior to the October, April and September tax deadlines.


• CSUN’s MST complies with California’s new 150-hour requirement for CPA licensure in the United States.


• Theory and practice opportunities include participation in the Bookstein Tax Clinic and the Tax Development Journal.


CUSTOMIZED PROGRAM


Students interested in the Music Industry may prefer:


Music Industry Administration (M.A.)


• This is the first and only Music Industry Administration (MIA) master’s program offered in the Western United States. The MIA degree is an excellent solution for professionals seeking careers in producing, distributing and promoting music.


• This program focuses on everything from music publishing, to the recording industry, live entertainment, music in media, and music products—there is no performance requirement for admission.


• CSUN is located in the heart of the nation’s professional entertainment community (only 30 minutes from Hollywood).
