Four-Day Esoteric Healing Program in Naples

Aquaponics System Open House on Pine Island

earn how to bring aquaponics, a growing trend in natural and envi- ronmentally friendly food production, to any home, residential community or business. Aquaponics con- sultant Jaime Guerra, who provides training sessions in designing, installing and operating the sustain- able method in our area, will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., February 22, at his project location on Pine Island. Aquaponics is the integration of aquaculture and hydro- ponics in an enclosed recirculating system. The fish provide nutrients to the plants through their natural physiological systems and the plants filter the water returning to the fish. “Local sustainable food production methods such as aquaponics are becoming central components to commu- nity urban gardening efforts around the world and in many American cities,” says Guerra.
