By signing up to USS, for a one-off registration fee of only £20, you will automatically gain access to a variety of fantastic FREE skills and knowledge resources designed to support you in your university studies, career planning and job applications. These include:

Skills development You will be able to access an extensive range of skills development webinars and articles on topics such as commercial awareness, presentation skills and interview technique. From time to time you will also receive personal invitations to attend appropriate skills development events. These can help you succeed in that critical interview or assessment centre!

Job vacancies We’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest job vacancies within finance, accounting and business.

Commercial awareness You will receive a regular newsletter to keep you up-to-date with industry news and legislation.

Free resources You will gain access to ICAEW’s world-leading library and online business resources, which can really help you when it comes to writing your coursework, dissertation and even revising for your exams.

Gain an additional qualification alongside your degree You also have the opportunity to gain ICAEW’s Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (ICAEW CFAB) while studying for your degree. This is an internationally recognised certificate-level qualification and it equips you with the fundamental knowledge and practical skills that you need to succeed in today’s business world.

- If you’re already studying an accounting, finance or business related degree, you may be able to apply for exemptions for up to five of the six ICAEW CFAB modules, as your course may already cover similar topics. This means that you could gain passes for some of the modules, without having to do any extra work!

- If you’re not studying a degree subject in this area – don’t worry! USS still provides you with the opportunity to gain this qualification alongside your studies. You can study at home, online or in a classroom and at your own pace. This means you can show employers that you are serious about gaining an understanding of business, and are prepared to go the extra mile.
