DOES YOUR CHOICE OF DEGREE DICTATE YOUR

I recently came across this article on The Telegraph which correctly points out that your career is not predestined by your choice of degree. It got me thinking about the unusual career path I have taken since graduating – making the less than obvious jump from music graduate to web developer.


The starting point for my career was studying music at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. The course was as interesting as it was varied, covering a real mixture of performance, classical history, music education and technology. Three years and a graduation later, my friends and I went off in many different directions but as you would expect many of my classmates found themselves in careers in arts administration, music education or performance.
