Supporting Our Soldiers with Holiday Cards this Christmas


ach year the American Red Cross provides assistance to more than 2 million service members and many of our nation’s 24 million veterans. They support military families, military and veterans hospitals and provide emergency communications across the globe. That includes delivering holiday cards from American citizens. They provide a welcome “touch of home” for troops during the holiday season. Every card received will be screened for

hazardous materials and then reviewed by Red Cross volunteers. All cards (no letters) must be signed and use generic salutations such as “Dear Service Member.” Cards addressed to specific individuals can not be delivered through this program. Do not include email or home addresses on the cards: the program is not meant to foster pen pal relationships. Inserts of any kind, including photos, will be removed during the reviewing process. Glitter is a no-no. Envelopes are not required and will be removed.
