1. With an initial application in late September, turf was still growing sufficiently to recover from the first onset of Microdochium Patch infection, creating a clean surface going into the winter

2. Following a second application in October the green turf surface was kept free of disease through mild autumn conditions, as soil temperatures fluctuated and slowly declined

3. Medallion TL maintained exceptional levels of disease control right through to the end of December, with over 90 days effective protection of the playing surface, when Iprodione treated areas were badly affected by disease in mid-November

TOP TIPS to prevent winter disease damage

• Build turf carbohydrate reserves before the winter with appropriate nutrition and Primo Maxx programmes

• Apply an appropriate autumn nutrition package designed to develop turf strength, using Greenmaster High K and Greenmaster Effect Fe

September Greenmaster High K

October

• Alleviate conditions favourable to Microdochium Patch

- Improve airflow around greens and tees

- Remove surface moisture with dew suppressants and switching - Aerate surfaces and manage thatch

• Use a preventative Medallion TL programme - keep turf disease free going into winter.

• Use GreenCast to identify periods of disease risk and target fungicide treatments accordingly
