To help combat the problem, the National Careers Service has launched a new dedicated hour of cV support on Twitter and Facebook - dubbed #cvoclock - from 1 to 2pm every Monday, the most common time of the week for people to work on their cVs, according to the research.

The National Careers Service has also launched a new application (app)


To take part in #cvoclock, simply post your question on Twitter on Monday between 1pm and 2pm using the hashtag #cvoclock, or follow the National Careers Service on Facebook.


In addition, participants will be able to join the community of job hunters by sharing any hints and tips they come across, cV tools that they have used or even the music that they listen to that keep them motivated. To visualise this participants will be able to plot their location on a cV o’clock roadmap and share with the community how they are working on their cVs.

In addition, the app also provides support regarding fi nding and organising a job search whilst on the move.


The Career Advice app provides learning and work related information, including an interactive careers toolkit to develop a cV, search for work, prepare for an interview and more. The app can be downloaded for free from the Google Play for Android users and from the Apple Store for Apple customers.


The National Careers Service is available to everyone aged 13 and over in England. It provides free impartial advice on all jobs and careers related matters.
