Alex’s community work rewarded
A TEENAGER who has made an outstand- ing contribution to his local community has been rewarded with a Young Achiever’s award from Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. Alex Rolfe (18) from Borough Green re- ceived the award in recognition of his ex- cellent achievements in supporting young people across the borough. Mayor of Ton- bridge and Malling, Cllr Howard Rogers, presented the award in Tonbridge High Street in front of thousands of spectators who were celebrating “A Taste of Ton- bridge” – a free community event designed to showcase all the town has to offer. Double Olympic gold medallist Dame
Kelly Holmes was also there to congratulate Alex on the award. Alex has been an active member of the
TM Youth Forum for eight years and has been Chair of the Forum since 2008. During

Liberty’s managing director Andrew Blevins said: “We are seeking to ‘right size the devel- opment and rebalance the resi- dential and commercial mix to better reflect the needs of today and tomorrow.” Land would still be available for expansion of the business
park which currently has 200 companies and provides 5,500 jobs, he said. Kings Hill Parish Council was delighted with the response to its public consultation event. “Residents expressed concerns about many aspects of the pro- posal but the impact of 975 ad- ditional houses on the road network, both inside and out- side of Kings Hill, and the den- sity of the new development appeared to be the primary is- sues,” said a spokesman.
