• Wilkins Kennedy has appointed Victoria Chambers as head of payroll at the Winchester office. She joins following seven years at NHS Shared Business Services in Southampton working in the payroll team, the past four as a payroll supervisor overseeing high-volume payrolls for NHS organisations and managing the internal training for more than 100 staff in calculations, legislation and payroll procedures.
• Aviation specialist Mark Turnbull has been promoted to partner by law firm Blake Lapthorn. He specialises in international aircraft finance, advising on the sale, purchase, leasing and financing of aircraft and related regulatory and commercial matters. As part of the banking and finance practice group based at the firm‘s Southampton offices, he advises airlines, aircraft leasing companies and financial institutions on the financing of commercial aircraft, corporate and private jets/helicopters, engines and parts. He is also experienced in advising on aircraft maintenance agreements, aviation regulatory matters and commercial supply contracts within the aviation sector. Having trained with Blake Lapthorn, Turnbull has also worked on secondment to air traffic control organisation NATS.
• CBRE has appointed a new surveyor, Mark Patel, to its building consultancy team in Southampton. Patel will be working with the existing team on current instructions while also developing new business opportunities across the South Central region. With a background in IT, conservation and construction, Patel brings with him a broad range of professional skills. He has worked with Davis Langdon, the University of Manchester Estates Directorate and, most recently, spent 18 months working in Central America on a variety of private and commercial commissions.
• The southern group of national and global accountants and advisers Moore Stephens has appointed Robert Newman as its new chairman. Newman, who is a partner in the Salisbury office, succeeds Mike Scott who has been chairman of Moore Stephens South for the past decade. During that time the firm has gone from strength to strength, undergoing three mergers which, coupled with solid organic growth, have made it a major force in the region. It has offices in Salisbury, Chichester, Guildford, Southampton and the Isle of Wight, providing a range of compliance and advisory services.
• Sally Pike, an associate in the family team at Coffin Mew Solicitors, has been made a partner. Pike is a senior member of the team with more than 14 years‘ experience in family law. Renowned for her niche family advice, particularly for pre-nuptial agreements and collaborative family law, she provides advice on all aspects of divorce and separation, with particular expertise in dealing with high-net-worth cases involving complex financial assets.

• Planning and urban design consultancy Turley Associates has strengthened its urban design team with the appointment of Jaimie Ferguson as head of urban design and masterplanning. He will lead the 15-strong urban design team, having previously worked at BDP as director of urban design for the north of England. An experienced and innovative designer, who has also worked extensively internationally, recent projects include a masterplan for 800 family homes on the site of the former ‘Ings‘ housing estate in Hull, as well as acting as lead designer on an internationally- significant development in Manchester of 3,500 homes which will put the city at the forefront of sustainable development.
• Lester Aldridge has promoted Catharine Geddes from the employment team from associate to partner. Geddes has more than 11 years‘ experience advising on a wide range of workplace issues. She works closely with HR teams, providing key advice on specific disciplinary and grievance concerns, contract and policy matters, business reorganisations and employment tribunal claims.
• Store Property Investments has appointed Ross Moyler as an associate director. Based at its office in Chichester, Moyler will be asset managing properties within the portfolio as well acquiring new development and investment opportunities.
• To usher in a new era of change and oversee plans for growth, Southampton law firm Eric Robinson Solicitors has appointed Catherine Maxfield as managing partner, the first female managing partner of the firm, and the only one in Southampton and the county of Hampshire. Maxfield joined as a matrimonial solicitor in the firm‘s Chandlers Ford office in 1998. Three years later she became a non-equity partner, and in 2007 she bought into the firm becoming its first female full-equity partner. She will be dealing with finances, banks, budgets, accounts and overseeing operations as well as working with the heads of departments to set objectives, agree target and create strategic proposals for partner board meetings.
