Angela Hadfield, one of the organisers, ex- plained: “The craft day is put on to bring to- gether like-minded people to enjoy each other’s company and to work on a variety of crafts they bring with them – bobbin lace, tatting, embroi- dery, knitting, cross stitch and more.” The guest speaker was Richard Box, artist, art historian, lecturer and teacher who spoke about “Richard’s Adventures in Painting and Embroi-

dery.” He demonstrated his art and explained how he turned pictures into stitched artwork accompanied by a slide show demonstrating his ad- ventures through painting and embroidery. Angela thanked everybody who had helped in the successful running

of the day and said next year’s craft day will be in the community centre on April 26 when the speaker will be Anna Mansi talking about the Cana- dian Red Cross quilts donated to Britain during World War II. For more information about the Fernlace Group, contact Angela on 01634 241910.
