RESIDENTS of Snodland enter- tained a group of 34 visitors, including 17 young people and school children returning for their second trip, from its twin town, Moyeuvre-Grande, France. The group visited Chatham Dockyard, the Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham and Canterbury while the youngsters spent a day at Holmesdale Tech- nology College and the Church of England Primary School. “The key focus of both twin-

Mayor to help judge carnival entries
THE Mayor of Tonbridge & Malling, Howard Rogers, will help judge the entries in Snodland’s Carnival on July 6. Judging will take place at 1pm in the car park of Holmesdale Technology College and he will be assisted by Bob Kingsbury and Penny Totham. The parade of floats and walkers will leave at 1.30pm, travel-
ling along Malling Road, High Street, Queens Avenue, Holbor- ough Road, High Street and Constitution Hill to Potyns Sportsground. Taking part in the parade – which has a theme of sights and sounds of music – and/or providing entertainment during the afternoon will be the Red Hill Corps of Drums, the Glenduart Pipe Band, DK Twirlers, Silhouette Dance and Theatre School and Brooks Academy of Dance. Money raised will be given to the Pegasus Explorer Scout Unit to help fund a trip to Iceland.
