Presidents Message
I am very pleased to have been voted in as the 2013 OQHA President for a second term. I look forward to another successful and exciting year with a number of seasoned directors and new faces on the board for 2013. I would like to remind all our members that we are working for you. This asso- ciation exists because of our members, and as a board, we welcome feedback at all lev- els. If you have any ques- tions, concerns or sugges- tions of how we can serve our membership better, please be sure to contact myself or your area director. I was fortunate to have been able to talk too many
of you in 2012, and I will continue to reach out at a number of shows and events in 2013.
Our first OQHA meet- ing was held following our AGM in January and there are a number of things already on our agenda that we are starting to work on moving into the New Year. With show season coming, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continued support and look forward to a great year ahead.

OQHA Annual General Meeting & Awards Banquet
The Holiday Inn Guelph was the location of the OQHA Annual General Meeting and the 2012 Year End Awards Banquet. The weekend started off with the OQHA AGM at 10:30am with almost 50 in attendance. Treasurer’s report along with all com- mittee reports were presented and accepted by the general membership. A delicious pizza lunch was provided to all. Following lunch, the proposed by- law changes were discussed and all were approved for 2013. Prior to the conclusion of the AGM, elec- tions for the 2013 board were brought forward. It was nice to see a number of new faces coming on for 2013. The 2013 BOD then moved to another room where the executive was voted on.

At approximately 4:30, the AGM was motioned for adjournment, giving everyone enough time to get ready for the Awards Banquet.
It was great to see over 165 people in attendance for the awards banquet. Many enjoyed the cocktail hour, catching up with horse show friends and making plans for the upcoming show season. At 6pm, Dan Patter- son gave the blessing and the meal was served. Everyone enjoyed an amazing buffet meal including a variety of delicious salads, roast beef, lasagna, chicken masalas, roasted potatoes, rice, and vegetables, finished off with a great selection of tasty desserts. The candy buffet, kindly sponsored by our OQHA trainers, was a huge hit. A table adorned with red, white, black and silver candies was busy throughout the evening, offering everyone lots of goodies to snack on. OQHA would like to thank the following trainers for their generous support. Following dinner, our year end award winners were presented with their awards by our two queen contestants, Paige Hoskins and Kerri-Lyn Webb. The awards table was very impressive with gold and silver tro- phies, headstalls, spurs, show halters, buck- les, spur straps, jackets, hay bags, horse sheets, stall bags and fuel gift cards. OQHA listened to our members and brought in addi- tional prizes for this year. Our award win- ners were very gracious with the selection, and should all be proud of their accomplish- ments in 2012.
