management and backstage crew on the show nights were totally student run. They are a wonderful group every year, who step in at the most stressful time in a show. This year we also had the IB boys kindly help out in one scene and assist with some of the very heavy lifting. “The behind-the-scenes group is the backbone to a show and as important as those on the stage.”


Just as the play itself is an important part of the education process, encouraging creativity and expression and building a greater sense of community within the school. “All those involved learned the commitment that is required. They


are proud of working together to create something that they will hold very fond memories of in years to come,” says Mrs Thorpe. “For those watching, I hope they gain a sense of pride as well as enjoyment. Unless you have been in a play, you might not understand the amount of work which goes into a production. “The My Fair Lady cast and crew wanted to entertain but also produce a show the audience would be proud to see. I think they did that.”
