UPBEAT GUYS LOG; STARDATE 3•29•2013; 9:13 A.M. & :16 SECONDS. SANTA ROSA, CA. ~ As you can see, we have changed the paper again! But this time I wanted to high-light some of the writers that bring us upbeat ideas and insights to life and much of what is in it. For example, Eloise

Tweeten has been with us for quite a while, writing about elders and the wisdom they bring to their lives and lives of others, and most of them are in their 90's, still thriving! Ron Skaar is a

fantastic chef with a plethora of knowl- edge in wine coun- try cuisine, writing for us about food, facts and the origin of many items we eat today. His recipes are fun, light and decadent in many respects. Chance Massaro I met

many years ago and is a book author several times over, sharing his knowledge of training our brain to be stronger, sharper, more alert & active as we age! He teaches his classes at most of the senior centers in Sonoma County and various other venues! Gabriel Fraire and

Sheets

two girls(now gone and out of the house) in his month- ly column, 'Daddy, I have to go Potty'. Jim Sheets, a great guy, his-

tory buff and friend, writes stories from 'Way back When' every month, captur- ing interesting details about sports and the past, and how it has shaped our future in this country.

Michelle O'Meara

Johnson is new to Upbeat Times, bring us new ways to look at life through life coach- ing experiences. We are

glad to have her on board and look forward to working with her!

Barry O' Meara, former

owner of Pizza Gourmet is a good friend and has also been writing for over 10 years for the Upbeat Times, keep- ing our read- ers

I go as far back as 1993 and has authored several books and many plays. Gabe I ran the Windsor Times back in 1991-'93 and have stayed in touch since. He brings fun excerpts and humourous observations about raising his

Penngrove & Petaluma every month!

Yerevan came to

us a few years back to share upbeat horo- scopes with the readers and to have fun with them. She is great to work with and we look forward to many more years of positive fore- casting.

Also added to the upbeat

staff is Ben Hampton, a com- puter special- ist and con- sultant who brings his expert

knowledge to our

readers. Singer

fan, photographer and con- cert enthusiast for over four decades. Each month he write about events he's attended

Great guy and very friendly. For the movie & film peo- ple out there(all of us) we've invited Daniel Sullivan, a local pro- ducer & writer to con- tribute his fun perspec- tive on the industry and how these visu- als help us to reflect on our own lives. Marcia Singer's upbeat

'Word play' is a great addi- tion to Upbeat Times, focuses on words and their meanings. Her style of writing flows very nicely and she keeps us ...Continued on next page.

This particular Wizard worked in a modern factory. Everything was

satisfactory except that some of his co-workers took advantage of his good nature, and would steal his parking spot.

This continued until he put up the following effective sign:

Violators will be toad. Fun Facts & Trivia #1

In 1999, Warner Music and Universal Music Group along with a popular Canadian radio station informed it's listeners that the Y2K bug would

affect all CD players mak- ing music discs created prior to 2000 unreadable. Fortunately, a Hologram sticker was

available to enable the old-format discs to con- tinue working. The stick- ers could be purchased for $2 and immediately the phones became jammed both at the record compa- nies and radio station, and everyone was demanding these stickers for free! The calls continued even after the radio station announced it was a joke.
