Atlas Composites join forces with Senior plc

Manufacturing group Senior has acquired a 100% shareholding of Atlas Composites. Atlas manufacture a diverse range of composite structures and tooling for a number of industry sectors that include aerospace – a key factor that triggered the acquisition interest of

David Beavan, CEO of Senior Aerospace BWT. “Over the past six months Atlas Composites proved themselves to be a highly responsive and technically competent supplier in supporting our engineering team with the development of composite ECU ducts for the Mitsubishi MRJ and the Bombardier CSeries programmes,” stated Beavan (pictured left). “The acquisition of Atlas Composites will enhance the structural composites capabilities within Senior Aerospace BWT and the Senior group of companies.” Speaking of the acquisition Atlas Composites’ managing

director, Shaun Moloney (right) said: “This is all about creating long-term sustainable growth for UK manufacturing. I am certain with the support of the Senior group of companies we have a fantastic opportunity to achieve our goals to grow the business, and increase our exports over a shorter period of time

than if we remained a privately owned company.” www.atlascomposites.com

STG announces record sales for 2012

For the third year running, STG Aerospace has announced record sales of its emergency lighting solutions. Sales were up 25% on 2011 figures thanks to a continued appetite for the company’s SafTglo photoluminescent (PL) systems and the first sale of STG’s ‘easy-install’ replacement LED lighting system to Swiss International Air Lines. Sales of SafTglo as original equipment improved thanks to strong deliveries of Boeing’s 737 model on which SafTglo is fitted as standard to the majority of aircraft. STG also began deliveries to the Sukhoi RRJ programme. Existing customers and substantial new client orders of SafTGlo products also played a part in the company’s record-breaking financial year. STG supplied its 8,000th SafTglo kit to Southwest airlines during 2012 and welcomed low fare airline, Scoot, as a new customer. STG continued to demonstrate that it is the preferred PL supplier in the aftermarket with strong global sales to operators

of all aircraft models including Airbus. www.stgaerospace.com
