Ibstock, one of the UK’s largest brickmakers, consolidated its industry leading position at the prestigious 2012 Brick Awards. It has maintained its excellent record of success at the annual event with nine of its 2012 projects selected as winners across half of the 13 competitive categories. Guide to aid dementia facility designers


The guide, Designing Alzheimer’s Facilities, has been produced by flooring experts Tarkett working in collaboration with recognised specialists in various related fields from across Europe. It gives an overview to understanding the condition and provides ideas to consider when planning interior spaces for use by those affected, such as hospitals and care homes. Tarkett has recognised the contribution its specific expertise can make. Professor Schricker, Vice-President of the Union of German Architects and Designers, was one of the experts who helped Tarkett produce the guide and drew attention to the use of sensory and functional design in medical environments. Using the correct flooring helps people with dementia recognise a particular environment and the activity that takes place there, as well as areas to avoid. Growth in popularity


Despite the tightening of purse strings, Wet Leisure Centre’s continue to invest in swimming pool Heat Retention Covers. EXPANDING IN EPSOM


Aston Mead has announced the acquisition of Alistair Hodge, Epsom. The move brings the company’s total number of offices to six across Surrey, Berkshire and London. Charles Hesse, Director of Aston Mead said “ When this established agency became available, we jumped at the chance to add it to our expanding network of offices. We already have a number of
