the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, Canada’s top stock car tour. In 2012, Mopar-aligned products went to victory lane in 10 of 12 series races. Longtime Mopar campaigner DJ Kennington earned an unprecedented seven checkered flags, en route to capturing his second career Canadian NASCAR championship. For the better part of two decades, Mopar has been the

primary sponsor of series front-runner Ron Beauchamp Jr., and has attracted and powered the top teams in Canadian stock car racing through its contingency programs and event sponsorships.

Tis past summer, Mopar expanded its presence into the

two-wheel racing world, by becoming the title sponsor of Canada’s national motorcycle road racing series, the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Turning to straight-line performance, Mopar is also the

title sponsor of Canada’s top drag racing events: the Mopar Rocky Mountain Nitro Jam Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta and the Mopar Nitro Jam Nationals at southern Ontario’s Grand Bend Motorplex. In 2012, the Mopar brand celebrated its 75th anniver-

sary. First appearing in 1937 as the name of an antifreeze product, Mopar (a simple contraction of the words MOtor and PARts) has grown to represent a wide range of respected performance parts, technical services and customer support. Canadian racers know that success on the track depends on

having the best authentic parts in their vehicles. Tey under- stand and appreciate Mopar’s commitment to their sport. And they are superb ambassadors when it comes to showcasing Mopar products and services to Canadians who want the best for their own Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and Jeep vehicles. “Since the 1950s, there’s been a strong correlation

between Mopar and racing,” says Mopar Canada’s Senior Manager of Parts and Service Jim Kiritsis. “In fact, we believe the two are synonymous. From our perspective, if it’s got wheels and it goes fast, that’s ‘racing.’ Our fans can relate to it, and they’re likely to embrace it.” Kiritsis continues, “Mopar enthusiasts also tend to be

extremely loyal. So by having Mopar visible at racing events – with sponsorships, racing vehicles and displays – it helps us to close the loop in terms of what we do. It also reinforces Mopar’s image, which is already well recognized by the fans. From our perspective, it’s just a great way to connect with a core segment of our market.” On behalf of Mopar Canada, we would like to thank the

many racers, crew members, series and customers who put authentic Mopar parts in their vehicles. We’ll see you at the track next season… in Victory Lane.
