Howarth’s nephew) fighting hard to make the A final. The 50cc A final was a close race between three riders, but Jacob Rosser just had the edge over Liam Johnson, with Oliver Hiddleston finishing a close third.


The B final was won by Theo Newton who, if it hadn’t been for bike trouble, would have been a lot closer to reaching the A final. Joe Howarth finished second and Luthais Douglas came third to round off a memorable start to their young racing careers.

recording a four-ride maximum in his qualifying heats. Lewis Winthrop, of Seaton, finished joint second in the qualifiers on nine points with the ‘Dearham Dodger’ James Hitchen – both lads had some ding-dong battles throughout the course of the day. Winthrop had a run in with the safety fence in one race, but bounced back, hard as nails, to soldier on.
