IF you’re looking for a little sparkle in your life then we have the perfect thing - get into the Christmas spirit this year with a visit to the stunning setting of Mount Edgcumbe House for their 9th Annual Christmas Fayre. With more stalls than ever before selling the exciting, the gorgeous, the unusual and absolutely scrumptious; chefs demonstrating their culinary skills plus a host of entertainment, there’s something for everyone.
throwing open its doors on the weekend of 8th & 9th December to offer a slice of seasonal cheer, a dash of cooking expertise washed down with lots of ideas for special presents.
The house overlooking Plymouth Sound is preparing for its best-ever fayre with up to 70 stalls selling crafts, gifts and locally-produced
Mount Edgcumbe House will be food.
There will be a cookery theatre with top local chefs such as Matt Corner, Neil Haydock, Didier Franchet and many more on both days, as well as a full programme of entertainment including music from Choirs from Fourlanesend and Millbrook Schools, Reflections Choir, Torpoint Ladies and the Kessenyan singer. The House is decorated with stunning floral displays by the students from Duchy College and to top it all, Santa will also be taking a break from his hectic schedule and flying in for a visit on both days at 3.00pm.
And if all that isn’t enough this year will see the “Food is Fun” kitchen taking up residence in the Barrow Centre on Saturday with many of the chefs from the main demonstration kitchen doing interactive cookery with the
children whilst the Children’s Hospice South West running activity tables. We also have specialist Anne Freeman offering face painting (additional charges apply) on both Saturday and Sunday so we’ve got your weekend entertainment all taken care of.
With over 4,000 visitors attending the fayre last year this is definitely an event we are happy to shout about! So don’t miss out come and join all the fun of the Fayre.
Admission for the fayre at Mount Edgcumbe House is £3 per adult and £1 per child. There is free parking available and a free mini bus service shuttling on the estate on both days (donations always welcome).
