Old Gold Whiskey were reserve champi- on.

Stephanie Kofu was thrilled when she

and Traveling Abroad were Amateur All Around Champion. She has been a long- time supporter of the show. "I always love that show," she remarked. "It's a lot of fun, having three judges was great, and my horse was really good. This was the last show before the World, so to have such a good show and get my confidence up real- ly meant a lot to me. I always call Traveling Abroad a really good teammate because he's always there for me. It's nice to have such a helpful horse to show with." Reserve champion went to Britanny Lofton and Huntin For Fun. Part of what made the show so fun for

Stephanie was showing with her mother, Shirlayne Kofu. "Its' been so great to have such an important hobby to share with her," Stephanie added. "To have some- thing we both love and can enjoy together is a rare occurrence. I'm really fortunate to share this with her and to have inherited her passion for horses. She's my best friend." "I love showing with my daughter,

especially now that we're in a different division," Shirlayne remarked. "I finally moved to Select so we don't have to com- pete against each other. Showing is nice, because it's our time to spend together." Shirlayne had some celebrating of her

own to do when she and The Krymsun Moon were Select Amateur Reserve champion behind Shelley Shepard. "It was really thrilling for us just because he's only five," Shirlayn said of her horse. "We've been struggling trying to get all the events completed, so it was a nice surprise to do so well. He did the best in Horsemanship. He's pretty responsive, but not super reactive so you can push him a little more. I haven't really had a young horse before, so it's really different. I'm

having to learn patience, and that's the hardest part." In the Novice Amateur, Kimberly

Ann Guenther and Sweet Assets were champion while Mary Wilson and Mac N Machine were reserve champion. Sarah Dalzell and her trainer Lynn

McArthur teamed up to win the Green Horse All Around Champion with RL Rumble Man. "I showed him in Western Riding and Lynn showed him in Trail," Dalzell explained. "RL Rumble Man is 13 years old. I've had him in Shannon McCulloch's barn since he was two and did pleasure with him as a young horse. Western Riding took him a long time to learn and we just started Trail in March. We weren't even planning on doing it, but we were having issues with the pole in Western Riding so we put him in Trail training to work on it. It's been fun show- ing a horse that's broke but still green in those classes just because we haven't shown him that much." Reserve in Green Horse went to Susie Johns's Lopin For A Chex. PCQHA Board Member and Fall

Classic Committee Member Chris Hocutt- Senteney was very pleased with how the show went. "Santa Barbara is always a great place to be," she commented. "Numbers were up; classes were large. Everyone seemed to have a great time. The show put on a wine and cheese exhibitor party, a catered tri-tip BBQ for exhibitors and their families, and free bot- tled water was provided by MSM Marketing." Mills added, "I want to give credit to

the show staff for helping to make the show run so smoothly, and to the PCQHA board members who volunteered where needed." Here's to another great year at the

PCQHA Fall Classic!
