Association has one. Is now the time for the Canadian fitness club industry

– with over 6,000 facilities representing 5.5 million members – to have its own survey? We think so. At Fitness Business Canada, we are proposing an

annual Canada-wide fitness club survey. To do so, we need your participation. Here are two important reasons to get involved: • For individual club owners and operators, a proper survey and report

will establish benchmarks to compare the performance of your operation to that of your peers. It will help identify strengths, weaknesses and areas for improvement. • Statistics generated from surveys will help defend, promote and advance

our industry. For example, statistics will help us lobby government on favourable legislation (such as the Adult Fitness Tax credit) and as well promote the importance of physical activity and the role our facilities play in that process. Watch upcoming issues of Fitness Business Canada and online at

www.fitnet.ca for updates and details. In this issue, we present our “2013 Canadian Product and Service Directory”

(page 30). All companies listed in the directory are committed to serving the Canadian health and fitness industry. Check out the supplier directory section for detailed profiles of many of the listed companies.
