5% of military and civilian
senior personnel based at MoD Main Building will be cut over the next two years to form a new senior staff structure. Philip Hammond said: “At a time when we are making difficult decisions we cannot ignore the volume of posts at the top”.

he MoD has signed a multi- million pound contract for new boots for the Armed Services.
Personnel will have the choice of boot depending on where they are and what they do. Black boots will continue to be worn with most non-camouflage and full dress uniforms.

THE PRIME MINISTER THANKS PERSONNEL
he Prime Minister has paid tribute to all Armed Forces personnel on duty over the
Olympic period. He said: “A great moment for Britain, a great moment for our athletes and a great moment for our country”.

he first of the UK’s next generation stealth combat aircraft, the Lightning II, has
been handed over to the MoD. The aircraft will be operational from land- based airfields from 2018.

AF Kinloss has marked the end of
an era as the station was handed over to the Army’s 39 Engineer Regt and became Kinloss Barracks. Kinloss has been home to the RAF since 1939.
