Bonfils Blood Center supplied blood and blood products to 169 hospitals and healthcare facilities in 2011 to benefit patients undergoing organ and bone marrow transplants, cancer therapies, emergency surgeries and many other medical treatments. n We estimate that as many as 437,000 patients needed blood transfusions and benefitted from the generosity of Bonfils’ donors.
n Approximately 1 in 7 people who enter the hospital will need blood.
n Through our partnership with the Department of Defense, Bonfils was once again 1 of 8 community blood centers across the nation that provided aid to our Armed Forces by shipping blood when called upon.
