NBAF 2012

After

INTRODUCTION

three unforgettable years, having made a

reputation for itself stronger than a carnival master's daughter on the local village boys, the Norwich Body Art Festival returns to the social tattooing calendar for its fourth year.

Trough the medium of sheer madness and gentle encouragement from those around, the NBAF is hurtling towards its 4th year with a schedule of participants to knock the dangly bits off of last year’s event.

You’ve come to know us for our calibre of attending tattoo artists, the quality of trade on show and the diversity of the entertainment that raunches its way round the stage, but it’s our sparkly extras that really give it that little some’ some’ extra. Each year we’ve welcomed the cream in graffiti talent to the show, headed by our bearded (sometimes) wonder, Tony Allen and his Sticky Fingerz crew so that you can see time-defying masterpieces being cooked up in front of your eyes in public, whether you buy a ticket or not. We’re nice like that.

You have to delve inside to get a real feeling of what makes the event unique, but we can tell you that this year, you get more bang for your buck – especially as we’ve stuck two fingers up to inflation and brought the prices back down to 2010 prices. We know just as much as anyone how the pennies don’t stretch like Armstrong as much as we’d like them to. Tis year, one of theadded bonuses is our inclusion of Print to the People to the party. Tey’ll be giving you the chance to try your hand at screen-printing one of our exclusive NBAF designs. It’s not often you get to get dirty with a sponge in public. It’s all in the name of art.

Te two days are eight hours apiece, but conserve a little energy for the halfway point… Te Saturday night NBAF after party has become a lively beast in its own right, and this year we’ve topped the lot. On Saturday night, haul yo’ asses down to the Norwich Arts Centre where we provide, for your delectation, burlesque dancer Miss Daisy Deluxe from London, raucous rock ‘n’ rollers Juke and the All Drunk Orchestra and ghetto swing DJs extraordinaire, Future Swing Sounds. Take your NBAF wristband-wrapped arm along to the venue and tickets are just £3 for all that swizz.

Hold up, hold up, dry those tears. If you haven’t got tickets yet, fret ye not. You can still pick them up from www.norwichbodyartfestival.co.uk for a week or so, or in one of our Norwich official vendors, Rock Collection or Indigo Tattoo Studio on Lower Goat Lane, Beatniks on Magdalen St or Rude Boys Tattoo Studio on Orford Place.
