AUGUST 2012 Fit Fest at Martinsburg Mall Martinsburg Mall is promot-

ing healthy lifestyles through Fit Fest. With help from the lo- cal National Guard unit, they have set up the Fit Fest Obstacle Course Challenge. You can test your strength and stamina and

agility on the course, and try to improve your time each month. Members of the Guard are on hand to help get you motivated, and River & Trail Outfitters has provided great river trips as an added incentive for joining the

activity. The next Fit Fest Challenge

will be August 18 at noon, with challengers getting started ev- ery 15 minutes up until 3pm. There are six slots per time frame, but, says Justin Whit- man of Martinsburg Mall, they will bump the number of slots per frame to 10 if necessary. You can come alone, in pairs, or register in advance as a group. “Our obstacle course is in the

back of the mall on the grass/ dirt lot,” said Whitman. “The challenge begins with a short run and then proceeds to ob- stacles like a hay-bale jump, a tire run, a keg carry, a sand bag carry, a National Guard ex- perience with a drill instructor, a tire flip and a few other sur- prises.” Plans are to hold the event

once each month, rain or shine. For information, contact Jus- tin Whitman at 304 264 1420 or JWhitman@MSUMartinsburg- Mall.com, or see www.martins- burgmallevents.info/page2/ index.html.
