22 BULLETIN association Dear alumnae and alumni,

Our Year of Engagement continues to showcase our achievements and we will continue to find ways to help you connect with the Association and the College! Complete the “Engagement Quotient” questionnaire on page 16 and then let us know how you would like to be involved.

Please join us in celebrating our success this year.

Admissions Support • We have presented 231 book awards this year—compared to 174 in 2011. Of those who received a book award in 2010, 16 have applied and three have paid a deposit to attend the College.

• We sent 608 gifts to legacy children and some legacy grandchildren. • 84 alumnae referrals have been offered the Alumnae and Alumni Referral Award of $1,000. 42 have applied (33 of whom are legacies); 15 alumnae-referred students (13 of whom are legacies) have paid a deposit indicating they will attend the College.

• Join us on Friday, August 3, 2012 for a “Legacy Day” during Virginia Private College Week. We will have gifts and a special reception or luncheon for our alumnae, alumni, and their guests.

Development Support • We have achieved 100% giving from the Association Board of Directors. • We have achieved 100% giving from the Council attendees. • We worked with the senior class and they achieved 100% giving from the seniors who graduated in May. This is the first time in the history of the College that 100 % of the seniors made a gift to the College. • We had 14 classes in Reunion and eight of those classes achieved 100% giving from those in attendance!

Association and Chapters • We held 66 chapter events this fiscal year! • We had a successful Reunion—205 alumnae and 40 guests joined us for the weekend. • The R-MWC Alumnae and Randolph College Alumni Association has 545 fans on Facebook with an increase in postings over the last quarter. Join the Association’s Facebook page and also the College’s blog, http://randolphcollege.blogspot.com.

Mark your calendars now. During the month of October we will kick off our Event-in-a-Box! We are asking alumnae to volunteer to host a two-hour event in the month of October. Once we have our hostesses in place we will send each of them an Event-in-a-Box. The box will include the supplies needed to have an event (with the exception of food and beverages). The Association Board and Office will work to have a representative at each event. Please e-mail or call to volunteer your home.

Engage with us. We need you and appreciate all you do.

Heather Ayers Garnett ’86 Director of Alumnae and Alumni
