ROM playing a few tunes at the Grand Canyon to making the news after losing their tour bus in Albuquerque, there was never a dull day for Argyll’s best known pipers on a tour of the USA down route 66.
The multi award-winning An- gus MacColl, Benderloch; Stuart Liddell, Inveraray; and Campbeltown man William McCallum were joined earlier this year by bass drummer Mike Cole from Chicago and snare drummer Jim Kilpatrick MBE (Shotts and Dykehead)
for Pipes and Sticks on Route 66.
The tour was arranged through American Mike, who had played with Stu- art’s Inveraray and District Pipe Band. The visit took the world-class quintet from Chicago to Pasadena, via
