Hays joins a list of very successful businesses that are lending their support to this year’s Awards.

Hays to sponsor Best Company to Work For

Recruitment expert Hays has joined the line-up of top sponsors for this year’s prestigious Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards

The UK’s market leader in its sector, Hays specialises in placing professional candidates into permanent, temporary and interim jobs and is perfectly positioned to identify what makes an organisation a great place to work.

Director Mehran Yadegari, who is based at Hays’ Reading office, said: “As a business we are focused on supporting local companies by providing a service to find them the best possible talent in the Thames Valley area.

“We recognise that at the core of any great business is its people, and we are proud to sponsor an award that recognises businesses that offer the best working environment and provide support and development for their employees. Being named a Best Company to Work For is a clear sign to potential and existing employees that they are highly valued.”

David Murray, chairman of the judges, said: “We’re thrilled and delighted to have the Hays team on board. Their expertise and knowledge of the working world means they bring real depth and understanding to this category, which always attracts a terrific number of entries.

“We all spend a great deal of time at work and it’s a great opportunity to reward those businesses who go the extra mile in making their employees’ day a little more special.”

Hays has operated in the Thames Valley area over the last 25 years engaging with clients in specialist sectors including finance, marketing, human resources, procurement, IT, construction and property, legal, office support, education and many others.

Candace Pridgeon, head of customer service at Bottomline Technologies, which won the title of the Best Company to Work For in 2011, called the award “powerful stuff” and told The Business Magazine: “Given the proven link between exceptional employee engagement and outstanding customer experience, without doubt, this award validates our approach and adds to our competitive edge.

“I have interviewed several prospective employees since we won this award and, almost without exception, they have cited this award as a reason they would like to join Bottomline.”

Celebrating its 18th year on the calendar, this year’s glittering awards event on November 15 will see guest of honour, Dragons’ Den star and award-winning entrepreneur, Hilary Devey, share the secrets of her success with a Thames Valley-wide audience of some 300 businessmen and women.

Fellow first-time sponsors are technology expert Pulsant, sponsors of The Best Use of Technology award, for businesses within the IT, telecoms and science-based technology sectors; while Grundon Waste Management, sponsors of the new Green Progress Award, is looking to reward those companies who demonstrate true commitment to the sustainability agenda.

Every successful business needs a good team at its helm and The Business Management Team Award, sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, looks to reward those teams which show great leadership skills, combined with an innovative approach and forward-thinking.

Creativity, innovation and the ability to adapt and embrace opportunities is what the judges from Deloitte will be looking for when they review entries for The Dynamic Business Award.

The Business of the Year Award, sponsored by leading full service law firm Pitmans, focuses on successful businesses which show both consistence performance and demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, combined with profitability and supporting the local community.

Rewarding the efforts of those companies who are at the heart of the Thames Valley’s smaller business community is James Cowper, leading accountants and business advisers, and sponsors of The SME of the Year Award.
