At The Yew Tree Inn we pride ourselves on supporting local artisan producers and suppliers. We use a local farmer (Richard Broster) for most of our beef (Angus & Hereford), lamb & pork which is bred and reared in Bunbury Heath. Richard also supplies us with seasonal vegetables including carrots, parsnips, turnips, beetroot and spinach (to name but a few!) plus great potatoes and free range eggs. We use the Jacksons of Telthill Farm in Frodsham for chips and roasting potatoes. Our Cheshire brie comes from the Tiresford herd in Tarporley and ice cream from Cheshire Farm Ice Cream. We use most Cheshire breweries and our main wine merchants are Densem Wines and Corks Out.

Our Sunday roast is a dish containing all produce from within six miles of the pub! Throughout the year we hold several ‘food & wine’ dinners – we’ve held farmers markets, a food festival, Cheshire cheese tastings plus several other events.

The produce available within our county simply inspires me every time I look to change the menu within our restaurant. I have held a Michelin Star for 22 years here in Chester and I believe we still haven’t uncovered the true food potential that we have on our doorstep. Every month I encounter a new flavour, new supplier and importantly a new idea that brings a plate of food to life. It has been a brilliant journey in my restaurant and I know that you will have the same experience when you follow the path through this taste sensation. Go on and go and ‘Taste Cheshire’.
