...to this year’s edition of Taste Cheshire. Our aim is to introduce you to as many different ‘tastes of Cheshire’ while you explore this wonderful county.
We opened our ABode Hotel and Restaurant some three years ago now and one of the attractions for me was the bountiful supply of quality produce across Cheshire and the North West. I grew up in a produce county just like this one and at Gidleigh Park we have developed relationships over a decade with our local producers. It is something I cherish greatly and all of my suppliers feel like family as we strive to maintain the standards of our Michelin Stars. In doing so, the quality of that produce is as vital as the process my chefs and I go through to get it on to your plate. That same journey is under way here in Cheshire.
We started our own ‘taste trail’ when we opened in Chester and we leaned heavily on the people of Made in Cheshire, the Restaurant Association and Marketing Cheshire to introduce us to both producers and customers. I am delighted to say it has been a wonderful partnership and has exposed us and our customers to the culinary genius that exists within the county. I hope you agree.
I know you will enjoy finding the various places pin-pointed in our trails and meeting the people who bring the flavours to life. Passionate people are always great to talk to and there is no shortage of people who simply love what they grow, rear or cook within these pages. I look forward to hearing about your journeys through Cheshire and if you see me at a Festival cooking or in my restaurant please stop and say hello and tell me what Cheshire treasures you have unearthed.
