She then left Greggs for the first time after 3 years and began working with a sandwich manufacturer, then went on to freelance with a number of food producers in NPD and marketing roles. A few years later Greggs asked Jane to look at their position regionally against all their competitors and make recommendations for the business to put them in a market leading position on sandwiches and hot takeaway. The company then asked her to rejoin them and soon after she moved south to develop their businesses in London, Cardiff and Birmingham. She was with the company for 3 years


I’m more interested in getting my Starbucks morning coffee than I have been in getting my clothes on the right way round


and then left to take on a pure food marketing job rather than the business development role she had.


After two years in a food service marketing role at Discovery Foods, Jane realised that she was ready to go out on her own. She was already writing for trade publications and so set up a consultancy which would help small businesses with their marketing. Despite setting up the company 17 years ago, Jane realised there was a place for the web so commissioned her first website for the business and though Jane intended to work
