Into the barn… T ere he stood. His head down in front of the fan, Forelock blowing in the breeze. Chestnut and white splashed everywhere. Gangly, with a kind eye.
Let’s ride him.
Showmanship in the soft sand arena: T e horse knew more than I did. T e owner mounted up. Walk.
T r o t. C a n t e r.
Hooves beating like a drum on the sand Sliding to a halt in two seconds. A cloud of dust around his haunches.

A new farm! A new name: Samson! More fi tting than the old one (Squirt).
Galloping around excitedly, tail in the air. Interested in everything!
New experiences: Going through water Trail riding Jumping
One year later… He is always Gentle, Kind,
Honest.
We have gone through so much together: A bad fall, Going over cross-country jumps. Showing.
People either give the credit to the horse or the rider, But what they don’t understand is… It’s a team, A relationship that is never ending, Always growing, Getting stronger.
