Ella Marshall (L) and Georgia Price, who will represent the Looe Girls Friendly Society at Buckingham Palace in June
Two young volunteers from the Looe Girls Friendly Society (GFS) have been chosen to represent their branch at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Buckingham Palace.
Ella Marshall and Georgia Price will attend the concert on June 4 thanks to the Duchess of Cornwall, who as patron of the GFS, arranged for tickets to be allocated to the GFS platform.
The Looe branch received two of
only ten tickets given out country wide.
The Looe branch is currently the only GFS group operating in Cornwall. ‘We are church-based, and we do lots of craft, cooking, stories and games,’ said branch founder Mary Henley.
‘Girls usually start coming at around six years old, and can carry on as long as they’d like.’
For more information contact Mary Henley on 01503 264377.
