New award made after re-election
There were no changes at the mayor-making ceremony in Looe on Monday when David Bryan was sworn in for the second consecutive term with his wife, Annette, as mayoress.
This will be his fourth time as mayor.
The deputy mayor and mayoress are again Armand and Rayna Toms.
In his acceptance speech cllr Bryan said he would be working to build up better links with the many local organisations for the good of the town.
He congratulated the Looe men’s gig team for coming second at the Scilly Isles gig racing weekend and the ladies’ team for coming tenth.
‘It is a credit to local industry that the first three gigs in the men’s race were all built by David Currah here in Looe,’ he said.
The mayor also said how, along with many people from Looe, he had enjoyed the Torch Relay event in Liskeard, and he was looking forward to the four days of events planned in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The mayor’s charities for the past year were Looe Royal British Legion,
