Put The Flags Out Special bunting has been purchased by Newton Abbot Town Council so that the town will be dressed properly for the occasion.
Jubilee Planting A floral roundel has been commissioned by the town council which will make a striking first impression in Courtenay Park as visitors approach the town from the railway station.
Beacons
These will be lit at three strategic points around the town on Monday, June 4, between the hours of 10pm and 10.30pm (see page 14). Beacons will be situated at Highweek, Wolborough and Buckland.
Peal of Bells St Leonard’s Tower in the town centre will ring out a celebratory peal of bells over the Jubilee Bank Holiday.

Town Centre Jubilee Event – Saturday, June 2. There will be music from Spectrum orchestra. Free regal balloon accessories for the children from Dan the Juggler and the King and Queen of Hearts will make a special visit to the town centre where they will view their subjects from ‘on high’. Silver Wings will also be flying in – meet Nasher and his friends.
