clearly booze, of which we had plenty. Back at the airport headed to Houston 24 hours later, my boy decided to cause a

riff with TSA. Bless his sweet Texas ass, in his carry-on that doubles as his shooting range bag—he had seven loose bullets. Three sheriff officers, two bomb sniffing dogs and of course a complete cavity search later, which I’m sure he didn’t mind— he was let on the plane—one he almost missed mind you. Back to Houston where I made a near perfect landing, ladies and gentlemen this is the point where you applaud… thank you very much. For our next trip, we were off to sunny San Diego, we first landed in LAX and

met up with my dear friends Terry Dillion and Lynn Kretchmyer at Laguna Beach’s Rooftop Bar at the historic La Casa del Camino Hotel. The Rooftop Bar is hands- down the most amazing place for cocktails at sunset in the O.C. If you’ve never been you must! Ask for the “Jizzy Surprise,” you’ll be glad you did. After an exhausting day, we finally reached our destination for the evening, San

Diego. I met up with the usual motley crew for a few pre-drinks; then we were off to Empire House Urban Palate where Kat and Liz took great care of us. After dinner we were off to celebrate Urban Mo’s 20th Anniversary, with pretty much the rest of San Diego! That’s about as far as my memory carries me for the evening. Those damn purple slushy things really do have a way of getting the party started and finished with all of two drinks! Hangover happiness the next morning was at Monica’s, my favorite little coffee shop in University Heights. They’ve redone their patio and offer now a wider selection of plates for your dining enjoyment. The eye candy ain’t too bad either! Back to the O.C. to spend some much needed catch-up time with a few old

ell poodles, another day another dollar; someone please hol- ler!! How you folks doing out there in La-La land? May-gray is officially upon us and to my surprise, she arrived a few weeks early—unlike some of your periods no doubt. Before we get

to the depression that is May gray and June gloom in the SoCal though, a little April recap is in order! Since this month is our travel issue, I thought I’d share a few of the hotspots

I stumbled upon. The first stop while not as glamorous as beautiful San Diego, Laguna or the rest of O.C., was Pensacola, FL. For those of you who believe Florida is where the gays go to die, you are correct! I’ve always shared the notion though, why settle for Florida when there are so many better options, like SoCal? At that age, are we really going to be concerned about the temperature of the water? I think not. But I digress. So I finally talked my boy into flying on an aircraft I was actually operating, on

one of my longer overnights to Pensacola. For those who have never been, it’s got all the makings of Long Beach; needles in the sand, sand rats (and by sand rats I means chil’en runnin’ all over de place) and of course the umbrella Nazis who insist you pay to sit on their sand. The only way to make it through the experience was

friends—and I do mean that literally! First up, a visit with my pals Greg and Jared. We started off the evening at Ibiza Bar and Night Club in Huntington Beach to say howdy-do to the fine folk there—owner Nicco was working the bar in his usual tiny boy shorts. After sampling a few new vodkas, one flavored like Fruit Loops— appropriate for a gay bar—right? Finally, our SoCal weekend came to an end, with a big bang in Long Beach. We

like all good Christians, made reservations early for Hamburger Mary’s Long Beach Brunchettes Show. The aforementioned, along with the Gospel Brunch at Lips in San Diego, are my favorite in all of SoCal. Sexy porn star Adam Rexx joined me and a few other local friends, for bottomless mimosas and a light snack—okay, okay, I ate half the buffet, but I was one hungry gal! The Brunchettes appear each Sunday at 11 and reservations are highly encouraged! After brunch we sloshed our way to the Falcon for the famous beer bust, and finally ended up in a hot tub with the sassy Aunt Phyllis Dean of babbleonpodcast.com. Well poodles, hope you’re fake-bakin’ already! Summer has its way of sneakin’

up on us and I don’t want to see any pasty-white booties out there when June gloom clears! So cook that goose already. I hope to see you all for Long Beach Pride Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and

20! Make sure to check out The Pink Party Friday night, and the sponsored events by The Rage Monthly and LGB2Network: Poseidon on the Queen Mary Saturday night and Play the Maya.2 on Sunday—Happy Pride my dear ones! Remember poodles; if life is a waste of time and time is a waste of life, go waste your time and have the time of your life!

Much Moistness in May!
