StockShow&Rodeo has remained a prominent figure in the livestock industry. The nation’s oldest live- stock showsawover 22,000 of head ofworld-class livestock roll through “cowtown” between January 13- February 4.While the showis con- tinually looking ahead, the focus on the livestock industry and our youth is
unwavering.The 2012Showwas proud to host six national livestock Shows, 16 auctions and over 10,000 Texas junior exhibitors. “We started out 116 years ago
as a livestock show and our focus remains the same today,” saidBrad- ford S. Barnes, president and gen- eralmanager. “Our Showensures a progressive future for agriculture by assisting in the development and ed- ucation of 4-Hand FFAstudents.” Youth exhibitors from all cor-
ners ofTexaswork year-long for the opportunity to participate at the leg- endary FortWorth Stock Show & Rodeo. High quality market and breeding livestock competitions as well as judging contests and other leadership events are hosted during the run of the Show for Texas 4-H and FFA students with numerous premiums, trophies, scholarships, and bragging rights up for grabs. The coveted annual Junior Sale of Champions on February 4 is a cul- mination of hard work for the ex- hibitors of champion market animals at FortWorth with buyers competing in a live auction and 100% of the proceeds going to the students. “One of theShow’smain prior-
