As an Aesthetician, I believe that every skin condition should be treated internally as well as externally; not just by topical treatment alone. As such, I strongly encourage my clients to pursue medical guidance and support via a Naturopath or an MD that embraces holistic medical practices.


There are many nutrients and dietary/lifestyle changes that can be introduced and implemented, as well as detoxification therapies that prove most beneficial in calm- ing this painful condition. Getting- and keeping- one's hormones in balance, includ- ing thyroid, DHEA and cortisol, are also astoundingly important.


While sourcing a Dr. to assist in the holistic treatment of Psoriasis, there are several things one can do that will begin to almost immediately improve this condition.


They are:


1) Changing to natural soaps #especially goat’s milk based# instead of tallow or pe- troleum-based soap when bathing. This helps protect the skin and eases plaques. 2) Avoiding excessively hot water when bathing. 3) Do not use tar based soaps or shampoos for long periods of time.


4) Use a rich blend of raw, unrefined, natural base oils to moisturize the skin and sof- ten plaques. Especially good for this purpose: extra virgin olive oil, sweet almond oil, pumpkin seed oil, carrot seed oil #that has been diluted in any of the above-
