Dave Saltman - Managing Director of Maxwell Amenity Ltd., Dave won Nationwide Groundsman of the Year awards between 1995 and 1998. He was formerly Consultant Groundsman at the Millennium Stadium.


Bill Clutterbuck - Bill is an ECB Pitch Adviser for Surrey and regularly delivers at conferences and seminars for Surrey Cricket Groundsman Association. He is the recipient of ECB Groundsman of the Year Awards at various levels.


Chris Parry - Chris was an FA Pitch Judge for their Groundsman of the Year Awards in 2004/5 and 7. He currently carries out pitch consultancy work for the RFU, visiting and inspecting rugby clubs’ pitches and grounds, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for the club and offering advice and practical support to the groundsman.


Martin Sampson - Martin holds a number of qualifications with regard to turf culture, including, National Practical Certificate in the Science and Practice of Turf Culture and


Sports Ground Management and National Technical Certificate in the Science of Turf Culture and Sports Ground Management. Also, for 3 years, he was an FA appointed Pitch Judge for the Groundsman of the Year Awards.


Gordon Gill - Gordon is an ECB Pitch Adviser. He has undertaken Specialist Cricket Square maintenance training to advanced level III and has an NVQ2 in Amenity Turf from Hartpury College.


Geoff Calcott - Geoff is a sports turf contractor, regularly maintaining15 to 18 clubs as part of autumn/winter renovation programmes, some of whom have been customers for over twenty years. He is the ECB Pitch Adviser for the Warwickshire Cricket Board, conducting in excess of 75 site visits including 20+ Performance Quality Standard Assessments.


Mel Pooley - Mel has been lecturing in Sports Surface Construction and maintenance for six years and is a qualified teacher, having gaining his PGCE in 2005. He delivers all levels of sport surface courses but specialises in cricket. He is also an ECB Pitch Adviser for Cambridgeshire.


Bob Stretton - Bob’s main sporting interests are Football, Cricket and Golf. He has worked as a professional groundsman since the 1990s, including 5 years at Coventry and North Warwickshire Cricket Club and 3 years as Assistant Head Greenkeeper at North Warwickshire Golf Club.


Andy McLeod - Andy is a Technical Consultant on all aspects of natural and artificial sports surfaces. He gained an MSc in Sports Surface from Cranfield University, followed by an Engineering Doctorate in June 2008 when his thesis was on the Management and Maintenance of Synthetic Sports Pitches.


Ken McCurdie - Ken is the Head Groundsman at Aberdeenshire Cricket Club, responsible for all aspects of cricket pitch and outfield preparation and renovation to One Day International and Intercontinental Cup Four-Day standards.


Dr Colin Mumford - Originally a greenkeeper, Colin left his position as Head Greenkeeper at North Weald Golf Club in Essex to return to full-time education. He gained a BSc (Hons) in Landscape and Amenity Management from Writtle College, as well as an MSc in Sports Surface Technology and an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) from Cranfield University.


Richard Murray - After 40 years of working in horticulture, arboriculture and sports turf culture, Richard decided in May 2009 to channel his energies into passing on his knowledge and is now a freelance instructor within the ground care industry, delivering training courses ranging from in-house instruction to full nationally recognised qualifications including NPTC (National Proficiency Test Council), Lantra Awards (Pitchcare’s Turf Maintenance Courses), City & Guilds, and the Golf Training Council.
