for which they test and the specimens they test. Terefore, the DOT will continue to work with the DTAB, HHS/SAHMSA, the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and others to bring these approved recommendations to realization in their regulations and throughout the transportation industries. DATIA will keep its members informed as guidelines and regulations are affected by these approved recommendations.

U.S. Coast Guard Issues Request for Comment Te Coast Guard is considering revising the regulations govern-

In support of that effort, we would like input from mariners, marine employers, service agents, and substance abuse professionals on a number of questions relating to the administration of chemical testing pro- grams for mariners by mariner employers. Comments and related material must be received on or before March 20, 2012. Specifically, the U.S. Coast Guard has issued a series of questions

to be answered on the following topics: • Casualty data related to drug and alcohol use • Recurring training for supervisors • Immediate reporting for testing • Consortium membership for independent owner/operators • Employer reporting of failed chemical tests • MRO reporting non-negative test results to the Coast Guard • Electronic Reporting of MIS data • Exemption from reporting
