firefighting, hazards associated with heli- copters, flight line familiarization, and emergency operations followed up with three hours of hands-on training on 11 different types of actual aircraft. Upon completion of the training,

attendees are provided professionally printed Emergency Response Quick- Reference Guides, which are simply called “The Guide”. The Guide is a 4x6 inch, spiral bound flip chart. Thus far, “The Guide” for 2012 contains 110 pages of information on 18 aircraft to include identification, access, shut-down proce- dures, and aircrew removal. The plan is for each student to return to their respec- tive Public Service Agencies and have this

resource available to them in the event of an emergency. According to Zimmermann, the 2012

training event which is scheduled for July 14, 2012 at the Mansfield Air National Guard Base, is shaping up to double in size with twice as many helicopters and attendees. Since EHOVE funds the costs associated with hosting the event, the instructors, and printing “The Guide” for distribution, they are actively seeking sponsors to help them produce another top notch safety training event.
