At the sound of the whistle he took off like a rumbling tank. Less than half way through the course we runners caught up with him sitting comfortably in a chaise lounge by the roadside smiling and waving a half- empty Budweiser. At another time

of a race took place in Newburypor t , MA, starting around 6:30pm. Pretty soon we runners heard the sound of a siren coming along behind us and we thought for sure that some- one ahead of us was hurt and needed an ambulance. Soon two motorcycle cops caught up to us, pretty well cleared See EVANS on 25
