Visit Jaguar’s Castle Vale plant


Building on the success of a visit to the BBC’s Birmingham studios in January, Future Faces members will have the opportunity to take a behind the scenes tour of Jaguar’s Castle Vale manufacturing plant on 22 February. During the two-hour visit members will experience at first hand, the craftsmanship and expertise which goes into all aspects of Jaguar manufacturing.

team. To rest on its laurels and not develop future talent would be a big mistake; a mistake BHSF has no intention of making. While BHSF has always had an


eye for investing in talent development, the past 12 months has seen significant movement in the appointment and development of those with real future potential. An organisational structure review in July 2011 saw five staff members promoted to middle management level. Add to that level two high calibre external appointments, plus a further two joining the successful graduate programme and BHSF is clearly strengthening its future leadership potential.

Those at middle manager level have recently started a series of development initiatives. A similar programme is to be rolled out for junior managers. The emphasis on development and attainment of


professional qualifications is driven throughout the entire organisation. Almost every member of staff has

at the very minimum NVQ qualifications, with many holding several NVQs in customer service, business administration and IT. Moving into the management levels, many post holders have either attained or are in the process of attaining professional qualifications. It is for these reasons that BHSF became a Future


Faces sponsor. David Nuttall, HR and operations director, said: “We recognise the need to develop our future leaders and see the Future Faces initiative as a great way to assist with this.” BHSF has put forward five members of its team, four from its middle management level and one recent graduate appointment.
